Recipe books

I've been obsessed of late with making recipe books. I've been making them for a few years now to give away as gifts - the first recipients being my nephew and niece, Brian and Jessica, on the event of their marriage. I've made many since then and they have gradually changed into something completely different from the original. Over time my books have gotten smaller but more ornate. They now have stamped images and rings at the top, where originally they were recipes mounted on pretty paper in scrapbooks. I love what my project has turned into, but I almost feel like I need to make Brian and Jessie a new book!

With Christmas approaching, I've mass produced some books to give as gifts once again. This is what I've been working on all weekend. The rainy, snowy weather was perfect for hunkering down at the House of B and stamping, coloring, cutting, and gluing.

I love making my recipe books so much that I've shared the joy with some friends! Last weekend I spent a few days at a vacation home in southern Utah with 4 other girlfriends. We talked girl talk, sipped margaritas, nibbled on cheese, and crafted all weekend. It was delightful! I brought supplies for everyone to make their own recipe books. The two above were made by Amy (left) and Lori (right). I loved seeing how each person individualized their project to suit their own style.

I love this idea! I also love your craftiness...it's fun. It makes me motivated to work on my millions of crafts I've started.
