People always seem surprised when they find out I like Nine Inch Nails. It's true that I'm not a big fan of industrial music, but there's something really gripping about Nine Inch Nails' music. I love the energy and lyrics the songs push forth.
Plus, I totally have the hots for Trent Reznor.
Only describes exactly how I felt after I got divorced. I played it once for a friend of mine and after listening to the lyrics, he said, "Oh Kate," with such sadness. People are used to me being smiley and happy, not angry. That's probably what I like about this music. It's so honest.
Originally I planned on posting the video for their infamous song Closer. I love that song! However, I found the video so disturbing that I just couldn't bring myself to link it here on my blog. There's a monkey tied to a crucifix! And Trent is singing in front of hanging slabs of meat! Gross!
That's art for you... if it makes you feel something, that means the artist has accomplished something, right? I still love Closer. And I still have the hots for Trent.

This is my favorite post so far about the music. It reminded me of how much I used to love NIN. I agree with you about the video to Closer being very disturbing. I find that it's better to not watch NIN videos and just enjoy the music. Good stuff.
