Choosing a song other than the B-52's Love Shack would have been a huge betrayal to the high school- and college-aged Kate. This is the danciest song ever written and it fits me to a T! Hearing the opening drum beats of this song sends me running to the dance floor in a dead heat! Nothing can stop me!

I always requested this at high school and college dances. Now that I'm older, I request it at weddings. I insist on bringing everyone around me out onto the dance floor. No ifs, ands, or buts! Everyone must dance with me!

Ahhhh B-52's, I love you so! And it's not just this Top 40 hit of an album, Cosmic Thing, that I love. I adore all of their really old stuff, too. They were one of my very early alternative music finds and they never grow old. In particular, I love the songs 52 Girls, Planet Claire, Private Idaho, and of course, Rock Lobster. But the danciest of all their songs remains Love Shack.
